Mini Rally

The Waikato Outdoor Society holds a mini nudist rally annually on the weekend nearest to Waitangi Day as one of its major fund raising events.
Waitangi Day is an annual New Zealand holiday held on the 6th February to mark the signing of a Treaty between the Maori people and the early European settlers.
The rally attracts nudists from around New Zealand as well as a number of regular international visitors.
The aim of the weekend is for participants to have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend and to catch up on friends. A number of sports including miniten and petanque are held for those who feel a bit more energetic.
A major attraction over the last few rallies has been free melanoma, blood pressure and blood sugar level checks carried out by health professionals. This popular activity will continue while the club is able to have the health professionals who donate their time to carry out this service.
On the Saturday afternoon a gumboot throwing competition has generally attracted all those attending the rally, which is then followed by a veritable feast of spit roasted pork as well as an alternative meat, and large amounts of accompanying food, which is then followed by dessert.
Various types of entertainment have generally followed in the evening from disco's to various kinds of quiz.

The next WOS Mini Rally will be on Waitangi weekend 2011
