Links

It's unfortunate but true that not everyone wants to spend all of their holiday and recreational time on the club grounds, so here are links to information about nearby attractions, other naturist sites in New Zealand and some international sites for those jet-setters amongst us.

Places to go and things to do near the Rotota Sun Club

Orakei Korako, the hidden valley. Just 20 minutes from the club by car or 3 minutes by boat (yours!) you can see geysers, thermal terraces and much more.

Fish and Game New Zealand have an excellent web site with plenty of information about fishing on the Waikato River and it is possible to buy fishing licenses (required if you want to go fishing while you stay at Rotota) direct from their web site.

New Zealand Electricity Industry - Mighty River Power

Mighty River Power run the Ohakuri Dam that causes Rotota to be beside a lake rather than beside the Waikato River. Check their website for a history of the lake and interesting little snippets like the daily lake levels for the last week.  For an easy half day trip a drive around the lake, whilst only encountering the lake itself at a dozen or so spots, provides a surprising variety of sights including the dam itself of course and such delights as the steaming thermal slopes of the Te Kopia rift.

Lake Taupo, heart of the North Island and gateway to the Tongariro National Park. From here you can organise trout fishing expeditions on the lake, go Jet Boating, Bungy jumping, take a scenic flight or just admire the scenery.

Rotorua is just 35 minutes away and is home to some of the most spectacular geothermal attractions in New Zealand.

You can check the weather forecast for the Rotorua region although we won't be held responsible for any discrepancies between forecasted and actual conditions. On the day, the weather is guaranteed be be exactly what you see out your window!

The New Zealand Department of Conservation and Environment Waikato both have interesting web sites about their conservation work, including in the area around Rotota.

New Zealand Naturist Sites

The New Zealand Naturist Federation represents the interests of naturists in New Zealand. They have a comprehensive list of all New Zealand naturist clubs, their websites and email addresses along with information on more conventional means of contact (snail mail and telephone). Latest NZ naturism news, promotions and various other relevant bits of information are also documented on their site.

The Naturist Home Page is a well maintained site with information about Kiwi and international naturism, clubs, resorts and activities. The site also markets a variety of naturist-related media.

Nudism in NZ is a site that presents a collection of information, or links to information, to do with nudism in New Zealand. It provides geographical links to New Zealand's nudist web sites via clickable maps of NZ. You can see at a glance where your closest club is and which clubs are near your planned holiday destinations. Being independent of any organisation, it is also a soapbox for the opinions of the site's developer and allows for feedback opinions to be entered for publication on the site.

International Naturist Sites

The French Naturism Federation (FFN) have an excellent site with information about naturist holidays in France and has plenty of maps to help you find the resort nearest to your planned itinerary through this beautiful country.

Another good site on French naturism with plenty of onward links is the Union Des Campeurs Naturistes whose homepage (mercifully) has a link to an English summary of their site. It contains lists of campsites, resorts, clubs and beaches within France where naturism is accepted or even mandatory!

The British Naturism home page has information on, you guessed it, Naturism in Great Britain! It is an extensive site with news, history and facts about the movement in the UK.

A little closer to home for those just wanting to pop across the Tasman rather than to circle the globe is the Australian Nudist Federation, which maintains a comprehensive list resorts and clubs within Australia as well as information on upcoming events.
