Secretary, NZ Naturists - Colin Basire
Col has been involved in
naturism since the mid 1970’s when he joined the ‘Waikato
Outdoor Society’ on Mt Pirongia. In 1982 he moved to Napier and
joined the ‘Hawke’s Bay Sun Club’ (as it was then known). He had
some time away from the naturist community but rejoined ‘Hawke’s
Bay Outdoor Leisure Club’ in 2004 where he became the newsletter
editor and later the secretary. He was instrumental in changing
the name to a more meaningful ‘Hawke’s Bay Naturist Club’.
In 2010
he moved to Tauranga and joined the ‘Bay of Plenty Sun Club’
where he is currently secretary. He also belongs to ‘NUDVAN’ and
‘Free Beaches New Zealand’ and has also gone full circle and
rejoined ‘Waikato Outdoor Society’ now relocated at Matangi.
Col enjoys his role as the Secretary for the ‘New Zealand Naturists’ (formerly Supporter Group), which he has held since 2008 and has seen the membership numbers grow steadily. He receives pleasure from organising social events for the members on a regular basis.
