Join us at Rapere, where you will find that your cares and stresses can be discarded along with your clothes
Our 4.5 hectare property is named “Rapere” (Ra- pe- re, e as in ‘egg’) a composite NZ Maori name, Ra = sun, Pere = Bell in honour of our founding President Norman Bell who generously aquired the property in 1963 until members could raise the finance for the club to purchase it. Location. Rapere is 4km from Rissington, 22km from Napier and 32km from Hastings on good sealed roads. See Location map. Part of the land is flat and laid out in lawns with clubhouse, lodge, swimming pool, games courts, children’s play area and camping sites. The rest is rolling hills with lots of trees where members have permanent baches (cabins) and caravans with attractive views over our grounds and surrounding countryside. Clubhouse. Our 250 square metre clubhouse has a large lounge and dance floor, dining area, a well equipped kitchen plus a basement with showers, toilets, laundry and spa pool. A wood stove keeps it warm in winter. Swimming Pools. We have a 20m x 10m filtered pool with a children’s pool beside it. Games. There is a paved miniten court, petanque piste, volleyball and tennikoit courts, a golf putting course and children’s play equipment. In the clubhouse you can play table tennis, pool or indoor bowls. Lodge. The original farm cottage has been renovated and named “Norm’s Lodge” and can sleep up to 12 members and visitors. See Holidays to find more information about hiring the lodge.. Baches. Many members have their own permanent baches (cabins) or caravans where they can stay overnight or enjoy a longer holiday. Camping. We have ample sites for tents, caravans and campervans, some with electricity connected.
