Hawke’s Bay Naturist Club is the only naturist/nudist club in the district. Manawatu Outdoor Leisure Club lies 230 km to the south and Rotota Sun Club 150km to the northwest.
Always Open.
Members and visitors can come to Rapere at any time. With a heated clubhouse, cosy Lodge and hot spa pool there is plenty to do even in winter.
Many members have permanent baches (cabins) and caravans at Rapere for overnight stays and holidays. Visitors may stay in the Lodge or camp at any time. For security, our gate is always locked and members and visitors have the combination so they can come and go as they wish.

Philosophy.
We are affiliated to the New Zealand Naturist Federation and the International Naturist Federation. The INF describes "Naturism as a lifestyle in harmony with nature, expressed through social nudity, which is an essential part of naturism. It fully exploits the beneficial effects of the sun, the air and water and is characterised by a respect for people with different opinions and respect for the environment."

Sun Dangers.
Our club began in 1962 as the Hawke’s Bay Sun Club, but later perceptions over skin cancer caused us to change our emphasis and our name. However, we know of no evidence that naturists have higher skin cancer rates than normal. Perhaps a light tan from little and often in the sun gives some protection? Even so, most naturists are very careful about being out in the sun, and we have plenty of shady places to cater for them.
